Supporting ALE's ISD to Kernel functionality #33

These were the two main topics needed to support ALE's upcoming ISD to Kernel functionality:

Removed std::optional and replaced it with a default value
Added a writeComment() function that appends the user-given comment in writeSpk() and writeCk() to the kernel file header

Will need to merge these changes and do another release, I'll link the ALE PR here once it is up.
