New features should include the following work:

[x] In the ? function documentation, add examples using either characteristicType or characteristicName, and include a statement that querying on both parameters at once can lead to 'unexpected behavior'
[x] Include in additional documentation (vignette, help, etc) guidance on best practices for constructing queries for summary services
