If the default "Thesaurus: None" entry contains no keywords AND the user has added other Thesaurus entries through the controlled vocabulary search, can the default tab be removed?
I've noticed this is especially an issue with the Place Keywords, where users will look up names in the Common Geographic Areas thesaurus and then move on with the metadata. This results in an empty "place" element:
