"Project Map Data to Cross Section" tool fails to open and python errors

Hi all,

I'm learning to use the "Project Map Data to Cross Section" tool for the first time, but I'm running into some errors. The first is that I downloaded the most recent version of the toolbox, v2.12.2, and when I double click on the cross section tool it gives me a "Tool has failed to open" message. When I hover over the error message it gives me this additional message: "Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component." Is this happening with anyone else?

Second, I tested a few of the older versions and the next one that allowed me to use the tool was 2.10.4. With this toolbox I was able to input all my parameters, but I got back a couple of python errors. I've included a screenshot of the parameters I used and the errors I received. I'm not very familiar with python and I'm new to this tool, so if anyone has any insight or suggestions for things to try that would be greatly appreciated!

First try the cross section tool on this branch. I have been keeping it separate from the main toolbox until I get more reports of bugs.

Hey Holly,

This happened to my colleague earlier this week, and we discovered that updating to Pro 3.2.1 fixed her problem. She had the same error when using the one Evan linked in the previous comment, too. I'm not sure if that helps a ton, since it's been several months, but I just wanted to share what happened and what worked for us!

Thanks for the response! We also have since upgraded to a version of pro 3.0 and it resolved our issue with this tool.
