Scoring based on distance from the paddle's center #13

Is your suggestion related to a problem? Please describe. Personal taste more than anything, I like rhythm games that are score-based better than I like rhythm games that are mistake-based (I really don't like grinding for FCs so I like it when a game can go "good job u got the best rank :)" even when I got a few misses), but also it seems like it would raise the overall skill ceiling.

Describe the solution you'd like For each note you hit, you receive a different amount of points depending on how close that note is to the paddle's center -- the closer the better. This way, when there's a trail of notes coming your way, you can focus on just hitting all the notes on your first playthrough, but when you start grinding for higher scores you can do more precise paddle movements to follow the trail more precisely. There's also potential to implement a similar system for holds, where (as you're holding) you earn more points for keeping the hold trail in the middle of the paddle.

Describe alternatives you've considered A more standard scoring system with combo that builds as you hit notes/dodge mines and breaks when you miss, but honestly that doesn't do much for me, as it keeps it so as long as you get a FC you'll get the maximum score.

Additional context vlcsnap-2024-07-04-12h14m05s678 Barely any motion is required to catch these next six notes, but with this added scoring change, you would be rewarded for wiggling the paddle back and forth so the notes land in the center of the paddle -- you're given the choice between playing it safe and just catching every note (even if they land towards the edge of the paddle), or choosing to push for a high score by trying to get every note to land in the center (taking the risk that you make a mistake in your inputs and get either a barely or a full-on miss).

By submitting this, I am confirming that I have read the README and am using the latest version of Beatblock.

Hm, one issue I can see with this is levels that have multiple beats hitting at the same time. They would be impossible to get perfect accuracy on.
