archetypes specify snapshot interval update of "never"

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. mvn archetype:generate 
-DarchetypeCatalog=https://artifacts.alfresco.com/nexus/content/groups/public/
archetype-catalog.xml
2. examine the root pom.xml
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I would expect to see "daily" as the update interval, but instead the  root 
pom.xml has snapshot update interval "never"

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
default archetype as of Feb-6-2013
