You mean how to do a literature review, converge on a large question, and refine until getting something precise with no answer to date?
I used the snowballing approach. But The Craft of Research explains passing from an open problem to a specific research question. I can try to summarize the process in bullet points.
Here I meant guidance for how to go from column 2 (seeds) to column 3 (concrete problem statements). I imagine having a template (which is in issue #7) that does some of the guidance, but thought it would be good to have some additional instructions/resources. But perhaps the template along would have enough guidance. We can see how it goes.
Prepare guidance for how to convert open problems to well-posed scientific questions. This should also be reflected in the issue template in #7.
