DS Forced connection to modern Wi-Fi Connections in TWL Settings #2110

The connection between the DS (not the DSi) has WEP settings for WI-FI settings which is not widely used now so I think TWL should have settings that should forcefully connect to modern WI-FI'S without bricking the system, and I have a concept how it should connect.

Edited in 28/2/2023 For Dsi and 3ds systems should have old Wfc games that aren't Dsi enhanced support WAP settings

Ds/Ds Lite

  1. Open TWL settings
  2. Find the Connection Settings labled as 'WAP Connections' Turn it on (At first, it's off) 2.5. It will look like the DSi WI-FI settings
  3. Scan for the WI-FI or Delete one of the settings for WI-FI
  4. Connect and it'll be successful unlike the original settings
  5. Enter a DNS to the server you like
  6. Enter a game go to Nintendo WFC then go online

If you happen to go to the original settings, it shows the wi-fi you connected to but DO NOT GO ON IT you will lose your connection to your WI-FI, and it'll say like 'Can't get the IP address 5xxxxx' and you have to go to the TWL settings then select an option and connect then be successful to go online again

This will also work with DSi ware games that connect to the DSi settings that will connect to TWL settings instead

I've done this due to me having a red lock on my wi-fi connection but when connecting to it, it shows a error of 50xxxx which means the wi-fi router security is too new and the phone method from mrbean35000 is not the best due to it not getting all the players that were on the server on mkds

It's not that easy. You can't just force a game with one set of libraries to do something just because a completely different set of libraries allow it.

Putting support for modern Wi-Fi the games themselves (see above, it would be an nds-bootstrap issue), the request is having a sort of override connection settings in TWiLight Menu++?

I guess that could be useful for people who use multiple custom servers at once (given some per-game settings being added), but otherwise not really.
