boot.nds does not start (from R4 firmware) #2157

Hi, thank you for your excellent work... This is perhaps not a big problem; I can ignore it, just switching between r4.dat from the R4 firmware or TWiLight Menu++, but I was using one or the other depending on how/what I played.

*Previous version at 22-23 (i think was the last time i try), the autoboot does not work with my R4, but now it works perfectly

Flashcard or Exploits? R4i-SDHC, r4isdhc.com cards 2014+, R4i SDHC Upgrade Revolution, R4DSiXL3D, R4i Advance, R4-IIIi, R4 SDHC Revolution, R4(i) Pocket, R4i Gold (v1.4.1) (3DS) & R4xDS Base Console: DSi XL

TWiLight Menu++ Version: 25.8.1 TWiLight Menu++ Theme: 3DS

Expected behavior

Open boot.nds from R4 firmware will works perfectly.

Actual behavior

Open boot.nds from R4 firmware stay in loading screen.

Changing the moonshl (dir path in file .ini) from moonshl.nds to previous version of TWiLight Menu++ boot.nds and open, show white screens and up, maybe after presing buttons and then many consoles icons, then both on white screen.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Put files from TWiLight Menu++.7z on root (_nds, boot.nds, ttmenu.dat)
  2. Start R4, selecting boot.nds
  3. delete or not, settings.ini inside _nds\TWiLight

Notes

Using as autoboot adding to root SD R4.dat, boot.nds and ttmenu.dat.. Works perfectly, but the .sav file of previous game time is not the same.. so.. That is why i like on previous version(but now is not compatible with the new _nds folder) that works, launch boot.nds manually.

It appears the timebomb kernel does not like ds_arm9_twlm.specs. Replacing it with ds_arm9.specs worked.

I don't know if it's worth fixing. Ideally you don't use that kernel you have there and use YSmenu instead. It's not worth trying to use R4i-SDHC's half broken kernel just because that one game works better.

I should note, this is not a TWiLight Menu++ bug. This is a bug with R4i-SDHC's kernel. They're still actively updating these things (they literally released 4.1 a few weeks ago), so perhaps consider contacting them to fix their kernel.
