Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again! Not Working While Listed Compatible (FOOL?) #2199

Flashcard or Exploits? R4i SDHC Dual-Core , from r4isdhc.com Base Console: Nintendo DS Lite

TWiLight Menu++ Version: 9560abd TWiLight Menu++ Theme: Nintendo DSi

Expected behavior

I should be able to run Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again! DSiWare on a DS Lite, as listed in the compatible titles list.

Actual behavior

,The same error occurs saying that I can't run it on a DS Lite. I tried both the EUR and USA ROMs.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Make sure you have a Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again! USA ROM.
  2. Boot into TWLMenu++ from a flashcard with the DSiWare. 3.Try to start the ROM from the DSiWare.

Notes

Is/Was a fool? If so please tell me, but I don't understand why you add them to the list in that case. Time to be serious!

Your DS Lite is not a debug model, which is why it doesn't work.

Ok, I guess there is no way to enable 'Debug', or it doesn't work like so?

Minionguyjpro commented 1 year ago

Actually, not many people have a debug model, so for most people this feature adds nothing???

lifehackerhansol commented 1 year ago

Some games only work on debug models. Most work on normal consoles just fine.

It certainly adds something for users who do, in fact, have a debug model :P

Minionguyjpro commented 1 year ago

Is it possible to make some debug model games on a normal one after some coding or not? It would be nice to see this game being ran on a DS Lite, although I have a New 2DS XL which can also launch it.

lifehackerhansol commented 1 year ago

If the game requires a debug console, that means the game itself cannot run on 4MB of RAM. Meaning it's just flat out impossible to run on a DS Lite.

Does a debug console have more RAM?

lifehackerhansol commented 1 year ago

Yes. It has 8MB.

That's the whole reason why the debug/normal split exists.

Minionguyjpro commented 1 year ago

Is it also unreachable with a Memory Expansion Pak? I thought that adds 8MB of RAM.

It should be possible to add support for the Memory Expansion Pak, but it seemed to be difficult, last time I tried.

Ok, I hope it will be possible sometime, my DS has a Memory Expansion Pak, so...

One more thing: Is the feature to run 3DS games on a DSi a fool?
