Closed Probro505 closed 11 months ago

Flashcard or Exploits? Base Console: 2DS ( 11.17.0-50E)

TWiLight Menu++ Version: V26.1.1 TWiLight Menu++ Theme: Dsi

Expected behavior

When I click on the statue, I should be given a prompt to move it left or right ### Actual behavior The game crashes with the following error: https://imgur.com/a/kuJZlkg ### Steps to reproduce 1. Enter Goron Temple 2. Walk to this statue: https://imgur.com/a/mSOEpIT 3. Click on it ### Notes Apparently, this issue can be fixed by setting the game to run in DSi mode, but the crash still happens for me.

Downgrade to the version before v1.0.0 for DSi mode to work around the crash.

@RocketRobz - I have the same issue, but please could you offer a guide as to how to downgrade to a version before 1.0.0?

Am I right in thinking that is version 0.1.1? If so, what exactly do I do with the .xml file to install it?

Also, do I need to delete the newer version of TwilightMenu first? If so, how do I do that?

Just follow the instructions in the release page for v1.0.0. https://github.com/DS-Homebrew/nds-bootstrap/releases/tag/v1.0.0

@RocketRobz ah - I thought this problem required having a version before 1.0.0 - which is 0.1.1?

Whoops, wrong version I posted. No, the version before 1.0.0 is this: https://github.com/DS-Homebrew/nds-bootstrap/releases/tag/v0.73.1

Thanks @RocketRobz - I uninstalled/deleted my most up to date version of TM, and then added 0.73.1 to the SD card. Now what?

How do I install 0.73.1 on the console and then launch in DSi mode?

How do I install 0.73.1 on the console and then launch in DSi mode?

The linked page tells you how to install it. To launch in DSi mode, press Y button on the game in TWLMenu++, then change the Run in setting to DSi mode.

Thanks @RocketRobz - I followed the instructions on the linked page for 0.73.1 but Twilight Menu is not appearing on the console. Is there anything I need to do in FBI to install it? Version 0.73.1 doesn't have a CIA file so not sure what to do.

@RocketRobz ok, I thought I worked it out…but apparently not. I now understand that Bootstrap and Twilight Menu are two different things. I have the latest version of TM and the 0.7.3 version of Bootstrap. I have launched Phantom Hourglass in DSi mode but it still crashes. Could you help me work out what I have done wrong?

palmerar commented 4 months ago

Got it working and discovered what went wrong - when I downloaded twilight menu it seems it also updated bootstrap, which was annoying. So the order you do things in matters! Get TM first then drop the downgraded boostrap into the folders
