In Pokemon games there is an key combination L+R+Start+Select to soft reset the game. All three of my pokemon games (slot-1 cartridges) perform correctly when launched via the native DSi launcher. I expect the same when they are launched via Twilight (launch method is "Direct").
Actual behavior
One of them (Heart Gold) will freeze both screens with the key combination, if launched via Twilight Menu++.
Pokemon Platinum and White perform normally.
All three are Japanese version but are not region-locked.
Steps to reproduce
Insert Pokemon Heart Gold (NTR-IPKJ-JPN) cartridge into slot-1.
Boot up Twilight Menu++, press select, and launch slot-1 game.
Press L+R+Start+Select in game.

Here's the weirdest thing. Platinum exhibited the same problem first. I thought the key combination conflicted with something so I tried the same combination in Metal Max 2R, which has the same soft reset key combi. It worked fine. I then went on to change some settings in twilight, but ended up reversing all of them from a fresh reinstall. Somehow Platinum works fine now.
Not sure if related. Unlaunch fails to boot White or Heart Gold straight from its file menu. So basically:
Platinum: can boot with unlaunch, can soft reset
Heart Gold: cannot boot with unlaunch, freezes when soft reset after being booted in Twilight
White: cannot boot with unlaunch, can soft reset after being booted in Twilight
