nds-bootstrap 0.9.2

Running LoZ Spirit tracks with new version of bootstrap caused the save file to be created anew, thus deleting previous one.

The sound in select save menu is crackling

RinMaru commented 6 years ago

I cant even get the game to run beyond the Nintendo logo

RocketRobz commented 6 years ago

@RinMaru Make sure your save is 1MB.

hubert-skowronek commented 6 years ago

@RinMaru I've applied AP patch

RinMaru commented 6 years ago

how you do this patch?

hubert-skowronek commented 6 years ago

@RinMaru Please refer to https://gbatemp.net/threads/nds-bootstrap-loader-run-commercial-nds-backups-from-an-sd-card.454323/

Uupo03 commented 6 years ago

@RinMaru the patch only makes it so the train controls show up (they dont normally due to anti-piracy), anyway if your save file (in your rom folder on your sd) is anything other than 1mb delete it and the game should work

RinMaru commented 6 years ago

Hope patching becomes an automatic thing

legoj15 commented 6 years ago

That, or the bootstrap becomes 1:1 with an actual DS

hubert-skowronek commented 6 years ago

@legoj15 do you mean that by becoming 1:1 with an actual DS the patching wouldn't be even needed? Is that even feasible?

legoj15 commented 6 years ago

Well theoretically, if nds-bootstrap became 1:1 to a DS then games would detect it as such; a DS (as compared to an emulator/flashcart, which triggers anti-piracy). Now, whether or not nds-bootstrap will ever reach that point is questionable (and entirely up to how far the developers want to go with this project.)

P.S. What I mean by questionable is, by playing a game not on its cartridge, you're inherently not playing the game 1:1 on a DS (for instance, save files go onto the SD card instead of on to the game cart)

piratesephiroth commented 6 years ago

Whether it's running on a DS or not isn't a big deal. The antipiracy code usualy tries to detect if it's running from an original cart. Developers hated flashcards more than emulators.

Never encountered save issue after removing 512 KB save.
