Is this still an issue?
Yep, this is still an issue.
Still an issue as of v0.39.0. Oddly enough, the first time I tried L+R+START+SELECT, the system powered off. When I turned it on, it autobooted to the game. I did not turn on auto run last ROM. So SR is (well, was) half working.
The next time I did, it crashed. Displays went white, but sound is playing, nothing is responding. So evidently it is trying to do some sort of reset but fails to do it.
L+R+Down+B does not respond (since that was removed), and there's no in-game menu (pretty obvious as to why).
B4DS in-game menu is able to soft reset. L+R+Down+B is not implemented at this time. Official soft-reset combo is untested.
As of v0.54.0 the official SR combo just powers off the console.
It also appears that the Reset Game
option has been disabled. L+R+Down+B is still unimplemented, probably for the better as that is facing the same issue as #1299.
So we're back to the drawing board, I guess.
Later versions have fixed soft-resetting, as well as adding Reset Game
to the in-game menu.
With v0.72.1, soft reset on B4DS seems to be functional on DS and DS Lite; however, for some reason, the in-game menu does not appear on a DSi or 3DS, and the soft-reset combo does not work either. (This is if you boot the flashcart via normal means, and use B4DS from there, so no SCFG or any of that sort.)
There's reason to believe this has always been broken, according to some users.

If this issue only affects a certain game, which game is it?
I can only try with these two games: Bomberman (ABMP-EUR) (SDK 2) Pocket Physics (Homebrew)
Expected behaviour
Each game should soft reset when using the correct button combination
Actual behaviour
Can't soft reset with either L-R-Start-Select or L-R-B-Down
Steps to reproduce
Boot a game on an R4 flashcard and try to soft reset
Other notes
I can't try more games as nothing boots as said in issue #504 I'm using an original R4 cartridge
