Remove Leftover V1 Files

Problem

Right now there is unused and unneeded code in this repository. This is confusing for potential new contributors that might be looking at this branch. This branch should reflect the current state of the V2.

Solution

Delete the old app/ directory as that is where the old V1 code was located.
