Using the code found on this branch, the following worked:

gitclone appdal
cd appdal/
git checkout gcrone/fix-test-configs
cd ../..
dbt-build 
dbt-workarea-env
. ~np04daq/bin/web_proxy.sh -u
export TIMING_SHARE=disabled
mkdir test_config && cd test_config
ln -s ../sourcecode/appdal/test/boot.json
cd ..
nanorc --partition-number 2 test_config test-session boot conf wait 10 start_run 111 wait 60 stop_run scrap terminate
