Something Elisabetta Pennacchio noticed and which I've confirmed is that if you go to https://dune-daq-sw.readthedocs.io/en/latest/packages/nanorc/ and follow its instructions to do the following after setting up a work area:
curl -o frames.bin -O https://cernbox.cern.ch/index.php/s/0XzhExSIMQJUsp0/download daqconf_multiru_gen fake_daq
...you get this error:
RuntimeError: HardwareMapService: Invalid map file ./HardwareMap.txt
