Is there an option to skip the encoding but keep the meta & renaming portion of the process? #8

I'm new to Transcoding Machine but a long time user of Breakfast.

I've recently been questioning the entire need to transcode anything with the
advent of apps like Plex, Boxee and the like that will play almost any filetype.

That said, I love the tagging, artwork, and renaming functionality of TM and
Breakfast. Is there a way to keep those, but turn off the handbrake
transcoding portion of the app? If not, can you recommend an alternative?

Thanks.

You can tag files individually using the tag file button

One of the things I have been looking at in a future release is breaking up the
transcoding from tagging, if we do get that implemented than in theory this
would be possible in a batch mode.

Any chance for a batch tagging mode?

I would LOVE to see a "Batch Mode for Tagging" feature as well. Doing them
one-by-one is time-consuming. Occasionally I have a folder of
already-transcoded video files, and I want to automagically pull in the
metadata using transcoding-machine and write the tags to the files... but it's
tough to do them one at a time.

BTW, I absolutely LOVE transcoding-machine. I'm a "Breakfast.app" convert, and
before that I used a cobbled together set of scripts and folder actions in
conjunction with VisualHub to accomplish something similar, but it was crude.
transcoding-machine is absolutely indispensable! Thank you so much! I wish I
could donate something to you for your efforts, and I wish I could find a way
to donate my time for anything in the project, such as documentation, design,
or even minor issue queue stuff (though I'm new to cocoa/objective-c).

Cheers!
