Paddy not working with symbols #138

Hi,

I'm opening again this issue because I've just downloaded Paddy plugin and it doesn't work for me with symbols.

It works perfectly with groups(screenshot attached). Spacing and Distribution works perfectly too. Just with symbols.

I've tried with the Sample File included in this tutorial (thinking that I was doing something wrong with the options or something) and it doesn't work either.

I'm having some serious issues with symbols as well. I set things up and keep having the background moving in relation to the objects it should be surrounding. Instead of just padding them it keeps moving to keep them centereded in the background. This causes the symbol's artboard not not be aligned with the background.

Hello, same for me; can't make it work when a symbol; found a workaround ?

Symbols are tricky. You have to have the layers set up just right in the Inspector when it comes to the resizing, and you can't nest any symbols within your symbol (stated in the docs). @msansregret it looks like you may be nesting symbols, which doesn't work.

@noradriana I just updated to Sketch 52, so Paddy isn't working anymore, but I've found that if you have these settings in your group, then turn the group into a symbol, it works once you set your override, then force a refresh by clicking on your symbol, then deselecting by clicking on the Infinite Canvas:
