TAP + DHCP with activated Back to my Mac fails #198

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
The log puts out "Write to TUN/TAP : Input/output error (code=5)"

What happens is this: the tap device get's configured via DHCP. After this is
finished an utun interface is being created (kernel: utun_ctl_connect: creating
interface utun0). After that the tap device has no IP address and configuration
any more.

When "back to my mac" is disabled no utun interface is created and the VPN
works.

I have the same problem if I try to open two OpenVPN connections with TAP
devices -- as soon as the second configures with DHCP, both lose their IP
addresses.

I've discovered that manually running "ipconfig set tapN DHCP" on each TAP
device brings them back up. However, this probably messes up other things.

Any update on this?

Not as far as I know.

It is _possible_ that 3.3beta42 (2013-04-13) fixed this (and thus 3.3 would
work), but nobody has commented about it here.
