Only if someone will make a model of settings window for it, then I can think
of.. It is not about programming, it can be done in Paint or any other image
editor, it even can be painted by your hands on a paper. I only want to know
what the settings should be there, on what tabs each of them must be placed,
how some of them may interact with other settings, etc (not just blindly
putting everything here and there on the tabs, but with real knowing of the
question!). And finally, how everything will look.
None of the things above I want to investigate by myself, sorry..

not really sure, i'm using it with megui right now and it only has a
crf\bitrate box and the slider with presets, not really any other settings to
mess with.

You're right, seems like they went in a simple way. But still, it would be nice
to have some other settings in settings window too. Meantime, I will try to
take a look at it, but can't promise anything..

What about 10 bit? Can you add that?
Original comment by b...@live.com

Are you talking about 16bpp version:
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1704731#post1704731 - "Win32_16bpp" for
example? I can see there only 8bpp and 16bpp. http://builds.x265.eu/ - the same
here, even ones that called "10bit" actually are 16bpp (that's what --help
prints out). Do "10bpp" also exist somewhere, or 16bpp==10bit? :)
Anyway, currently I'm not working on it or on anything else, the first thing to
update must be FFmpeg, I think. But there's some troubles with FFmpeg-based
encoders in XviD4PSP, I really don't want to fix it by myself, they are mostly
all obsolete (like MPEG1\2\4, FLV1), so it is very likely that all (or some) of
them will be removed or leaved as-is in half-broken state.

I'm talking about 10 bit x264 (not x265 anymore.. didn't want to make another
topic again sorry)
described like this in mediainfo
Format profile : High 10@L3.1
Bit depth : 10 bits

one more thing. Why doesn't your encoder remux subtitles\chapter files from the

Like many other things, such feature does not implemented..
Original comment by forc...@gmail.com

but it uses mkvmerge right? Doesn't that do all the work for you?
Original comment by b...@live.com

Well, speaking simple XviD4PSP - is just a GUI and it doesn't do any low-level
job by itself. XviD4PSP is the one who operate with other tools in order to
make something for you at the low-level. MKVToolnix can mux\demux
subtitles\chapter, but XviD4PSP doesn't uses this ability because such code
path is not currently implemented in XviD4PSP.
You can probably make it work for you (or may be not) by playing with arguments
that passes to mkvmerge when muxing - you can add your own things there. You
need to feed input file and ask mkvmerge to take only subtitles\chapter from
it. Something like this (tweak by yourself if needed): -s -1 -m -1 -A -D
"%in_path%\%in_name%%in_ext%"
-s -1 Copy the subtitle tracks (-1 means all)
-m -1 Copy the attachments (-\\-)
-A Don't copy any audio track
-D Don't copy any video track
-s and -m most probably redundant, because mkvmerge will copy everything from
the input file (I think), unless you disable something, like -A and -D for the
video and audio, so you only need to disable what you don't need.
https://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/doc/mkvmerge.html#mkvmerge.descript
ion - here is what you may want to read.

Hmm well i'd like to do a 1-1 copy of whats with the mkv file. Chapters, subs,

i don't see anything in those settings about that.

also i did
-s -1 -m -1 --engage no_cue_duration --engage
to try and copy subs\attachments but it gave me this error
Error:

-S is for no subtitles and i'm not seeing a way to remove that
Original comment by b...@live.com

You need to copy-paste
-s -1 -m -1 -A -D "%in_path%\%in_name%%in_ext%"
not typing it yourself, without input file ("%in_path%\%in_name%%in_ext%") you
can't copy anything to your output file. Also it is really important where
exactly one or another argument is placed, --no-chapters is for followed audio
file only, and -s -1 -m -1 -A -D is only for your input file (which is followed
afterwards). Try to play with first part (-s -1 -m -1 -A -D) and read the docs
from the links above. I don't see there any special key for copying chapters
from the file (--chapters file-name probably not what you want), only
--no-chapters for disabling it, but in your case --no-chapters is applied on
audio file. That's all I can say.
P.S. --engage no_cue_duration --engage no_cue_relative_position - the second
one was wrapped on my picture, you can extend the width of this window so
everything will fit at one line.

i copied and put it in there
-s -1 -m -1 -A -D "%in_path%\%in_name%%in_ext%" --engage no_cue_duration
--engage no_cue_relative_position
And it went through the Muxing, but there were no subtitles. Attachments and
chapters were there, but it wouldn't put the subtitles (not internal or
external ones)
Its still throwing -S in there
mkvmerge.exe: -o "G:\Anime\[DmonHiro] Magi - 01st Night (v3) - Aladdin And
Alibaba (BD, 720p) [07F47755].mkv" -s -1 -m -1 -A -D
"G:\Anime\Magi\S01\[DmonHiro] Magi - 01st Night (v3) - Aladdin And Alibaba (BD,
720p) [07F47755].mkv" --engage no_cue_duration --engage
no_cue_relative_position --default-duration 0:23.976fps -d 0 -A -S

"G:\Temp\3761_0.aac" --output-charset UTF-8

I don't know why -s -1 doesn't work, but as I said before -s and -m are
redundant, you can remove them. With -A -D "%in_path%\%in_name%%in_ext%" the
subs and chapters are there. And no, -S is not related to your input file:
mkvmerge.exe: -o "D:\Temp\[DmonHiro] Magi - 01st Night (v3) - Aladdin And
Alibaba (BD, 720p) [07F47755gg].mkv" -A -D "D:\Torrent\[DmonHiro] Magi - The
Labyrinth Of Magic (BD, 720p)\[DmonHiro] Magi - 01st Night (v3) - Aladdin And
Alibaba (BD, 720p) [07F47755].mkv" --engage no_cue_duration --engage
no_cue_relative_position --default-duration 0:23.976fps -d 0 -A -S
"D:\Temp\0091.264" -a 0 -D -S --no-chapters "D:\Temp\0091.m4a" --output-charset
UTF-8
-o "D:\Temp\[DmonHiro] Magi - 01st Night (v3) - Aladdin And Alibaba (BD, 720p)
[07F47755gg].mkv"
(output file)
-A -D "D:\Torrent\[DmonHiro] Magi - The Labyrinth Of Magic (BD,
720p)\[DmonHiro] Magi - 01st Night (v3) - Aladdin And Alibaba (BD, 720p)
[07F47755].mkv"
(first input file with some non-global options for it)
--engage no_cue_duration --engage no_cue_relative_position
(global options)
--default-duration 0:23.976fps -d 0 -A -S "D:\Temp\0091.264"
(second input file with some non-global options for it)
-a 0 -D -S --no-chapters "D:\Temp\0091.m4a"
(third input file with some non-global options for it)
--output-charset UTF-8
(another global option)

but looking at the mkvmerge document you linked
-A - Don't copy any audio track from this file.
-D - Don't copy any video track from this file.
-S - Don't copy any subtitle track from this file.
So why would you be using them?

--default-duration 0:23.976fps -d 0 -A -S "D:\Temp\0091.264"
It can be either encoded video file OR your source file if video encoding mode
is Copy and DirectRemuxing isn't disabled. For the last case -A -S disables
audio and subtitles that may exist in it, and specified video track (-d 0) is
used.
-a 0 -D -S --no-chapters "D:\Temp\0091.m4a"
It can be either encoded audio file OR your source file if audio encoding mode
is Copy and DirectRemuxing isn't disabled. For the last case -D -S
--no-chapters disables video, subtitles and chapters that may exist in it
(chapters also exist in m4a files encoded with neroAAC), and specified audio
track (-a 0) is used.
Probably some other keys (B, T, M,..) must be added too to disable other things
for Copy+DirectRemuxing..

I seem to have got it to work with just
-A -D "%in_path%\%in_name%%in_ext%" --engage no_cue_duration --engage
no_cue_relative_position
Copied the mkv file as it was so thanks
One last question
Is it possible to make it mux in an external sub?
It loads it up like this if you have it as the same name
TextSub("G:\Anime\Magi\S01\MKV\[DmonHiro] Magi - 01st Night (v3) - Aladdin And
Alibaba (BD, 720p) [07F47755].ass")
but thats for hardsubbing right? Is there a mkvmerge command to grab the same
name subtitle?
Original comment by b...@live.com
on 7 Jan 2015 at 8:34
You can't disable auto loading of external subtitles with the same name, but
you can go to Subtitles->Remove. And you can add "%in_path%\%in_name%.ass" if
you want to mux it. Or you can rename your external file somehow, for example:
C:\Folder\some_name.mkv
C:\Folder\some_name111.ass
Autoloading will stop working, and "%in_path%\%in_name%111.ass" should work.

So like this?
-A -D "%in_path%\%in_name%111.ass%in_ext%" --engage no_cue_duration --engage
no_cue_relative_position
and then add 111 at the end of my filename?
tried it and it gave me an error.

-A -D "%in_path%\%in_name%111.ass" --engage no_cue_duration --engage

that worked but then it didn't copy attachments or chapters.
Original comment by b...@live.com

Because your externall ass-file doesn't contain it? :) I really dont understand
what you're doing, firstly you wanted to save something from the input file -
ok. Secondly you asked about muxing external subtitles file - ok. I though it
was two different cases. Your external ass-file doesn't contain anything else
except subtitles, and you didn't specified the file that contains it, so of
course there will be no chapters\attachments in the resulting file.
-A -D "%in_path%\%in_name%%in_ext%" -A -D "%in_path%\%in_name%111.ass" --engage
no_cue_duration --engage no_cue_relative_position
Something like this..

Well i wanted to make it copy everything that was inside of the mkv
i didn't know it was possible to copy the external subtitles thats why i was
asking.
and if it was i wanted to copy them with everything else.
