I created a node.js version - https://github.com/iebb/eden-asgn-batchdl-nodejs Some suggestions:

Generate Dev-C++ Project File .dev or Makefile for Linux systems
Publish executable for those doesn't have Python installed or using Python 3 (py2exe is a good choice)
Listing assignments currently available
Allow downloading multiple assignments at once

However, lacking some of the knowledge, I am not sure whether I can implement some of your suggestion. I will try in my spare time.

BTW, I have seen your project and I find that your code is not very long as mine. I think I will see it again later and see what I can improve.

Are you guys interested in joining the development of smart_programmer? The code base of smart_programmer is on github too.@iebb @DaddyTrap

By the way, I have added the code download feature to the smart_programmer ...

@roadlit Does smart_programmer means eden? With great pleasure! I am willing to join and see what I can do if possible!

Yeah. That will be great. I have already granted you the code access right on github. The repository name is called smart_programmer. But I cannot give you the account/password of the server eden.sysu.edu.cn for the moment, as you guys will take exam this semester on it.

Currently, I recommend using virtual machine for development. The system is CentOS 6.5, 64 bits, python 2.7, django 1.5.5. You can find the required packages in requirement.txt under the root directory.

If you know other students who are interested in playing with eden, please let me know. I am thinking of transferring its development and management to a team of smart students, so that you can keeping enhancing the system for our school. I know there are lots of complaints, but just don't have time to address them.
