Has this project been abandoned?

Last release was in 2018, no activity for multiple months.

You may help me improving it ... and maybe move to BS5.

Then you should write GitHub support an email about it. They can detach your fork so it appears as it's standalone repo.

Hi, cool, I didn't know that. How would you name it then ? I don't want to steal the work but I've been maintaining it for 2 years now.

It's open source and you have been actively developing it further. They have abandoned it. See the MIT license.

Your repo will maintain the same name but won't be a fork anymore.
