I think that the current radius is appropriate. Saturday because I was training two canvassers we had two phones with us, This caused me to notice that one house showed on one phone but not the other. I attribute this to a faulty GPS location on that phone. This is not a big deal. Politics is a numbers game. We seek to maximize our impact and we don that in part by improving the quality and quantity of our door knocks. Missing one door in ten or twenty is all but irrelevant. However, this does suggest that we don't want to decrease the radius.
OTOH, the phones often show eight to ten addresses and it can be hard to find the next one. Having them sorted by street and number would help in that.
