Should perhaps clarify whether it works in Scotland (it should, to my knowledge) #2

It's a little legally ambiguous. Scots Law works slightly differently: however, Scottish citizens are (of course) British citizens. Functionally-speaking, there have been many people in Scotland who've used these deeds poll and had their change of name widely accepted (DVLA, Passport Office, bank, NHS, etc.), so it can be reasonably assumed that "it'll work".

Right, that's my understanding of it as well. It'd be nice if the site would clarify that, I suppose.

Oh, I should point out that in Scotland, people who were born in Scotland can change their birth certificates, and they could presumably can use that as evidence of a name change, unlike in England where I don't believe birth certificates can be changed.
