Pulls in all Endowment information from Schedule D for the filtered endowments, as well as collects whether or not the 990 answered Q10 of the part IV checklist, which indicated the need for the Schedule D to be filled out particularly for endowments.
This assumes you have the raw data files, but not the filtered or metadata table.
I think for the question you put: Does ZERO in a boolean situation mean false or mean NA? There are cases where 1s and 0s are coded for T/F', it might be nice to print something so we can see what you're describing, e.g., the line of code endowment_data %>% pull(EndowmentsHeldUnrelatedOrgInd) %>% unique() could be one way to quickly see what you mean
Would be good to add the knitted retrieve_endowment file unless there's a reason not to (add message=FALSE) to setup chunk beforehand
This is less something to do at this moment but just to make a not of it while I'm thinking about it, something we might want to work on for the future is creating a dictionary of variable name to plain english variable name for ease of interpretation
