I tried to install Geany under Ubuntu on the go as indicated on their Releases page but got errors and gave up, while the two Binder environments work fine for the moment.

Meanwhile, installing Geany under OSX worked smoothly. Retrying to install it under Ubuntu . apt-get install worked fine.

Some issues with using the Binder environment:

• after a certain time of inactivity (perhaps 30 min), the connection is closed, and I have not seen a way to reactivate it
• the Fortran kernel threw a Func or Array 'int' not declared. error in response to the command print *, int(Xs/x)
