Some notes from today, which was focused on Women in Data Science:

• could only follow via Twitter, since none of the slides were posted, and there was no livestream, though a few tweets contained brief video recordings
• fair amount of celebratory tweets, some nice quotes and pics, not much discussion
• sessions are mostly keynotes and panels, not much room for interaction with the audience
• while Western conferences often have all-male, all-white panels with an occasional white female, they had all-female panels throghout, mostly all-black, with an occasional white female.
• sustainability (and the SDGs in particular) popped up in lots of contexts

Today was similar to yesterday, except that the strong emphasis on women was gone. I asked for presentations or further information in some cases - we'll see what that gives.

Yesterday, I did not link any of the video tweets, since the audio and especially the video were of poor quality. Today, there were a few more, and while the quality has not changed, I think it's good to note some for the record (e.g. here and here) and to think about how such channels can be used effectively.
