We’ve been discussing Wikimedia similarities with Dario Taraborelli, and Wikidata in particular. Definitions on Qeios do in fact somehow resemble Wikidata items, but:
- Definitions on Qeios can only be composed by researchers (you need an institutional email address to sign up) or retrieved from existing scientific corpora.
- Definitions receive a DOI upon publication and can thus be easily cited.
- Related Definitions are grouped in clusters. Reviews (and re-uses) rank them, with a final result which is somehow similar to Urban Dictionary - https://www.urbandictionary.com/ - you can see an example of a cluster here, on the definition of Open Access - https://doi.org/10.32388/380563
Regarding RIO Journal, I can see the similarities with the ARPHA Writing Tool. We definitely believe in web-native publications. The main differences tho:
- The possibility to USE Definitions (ideally the best-ranked ones) when creating new Articles.
