I watched several Wikimania talks today (and was involved in running one session), as per https://wikimania.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Daniel_Mietchen/2021#Sunday,_August_15 .

Today too, I was watching several Wikimania talks and involved in running one session: https://wikimania.wikimedia.org/wiki/2021:Submissions/Wikimedia_and_Sustainability-Selecting_topics_for_impact .

I actually also watched the recording of the session I helped run, which was an experiment in remote collaboration that — despite some technical issues — went rather well in that the people attending the session made very active contributions, silently in shared documents.

An unexpected side effect of this was that the recording of the session provided me with the rare opportunity to observe myself on camera as I was conceiving an idea and putting it into words in the shared etherpad:

• video at that point
• etherpad at that point (18:33:53 UTC). This took a nice turn less than a minute later (18:34:50 UTC) when the idea received immediate feedback, which was likewise captured both in the video and in the etherpad.

I thus began to develop the idea a bit further by setting up a page for it:
