The good news is that they can't screw with anything when they return, the bad news is it makes it seem like the site isnt working.

This may be another bug entirely. The expiration doesnt seem to apply, which means either 1) remove the file or 2) make it expire. I think the bug is on my end because i am placing new jwt tokens between dev and production.
