Move gradle build files of sample apps to kotlin dsl #311

Moving the Gradle build files of the same apps to Kotlin DSL. Next step is migrating the other modules as well, this might take a bit more time as the publishing script is blocking me from migrating those. So I would have to dive deeper into that.
