Apple lossless conversion is not working. #121

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Alter bit depth to 32

How about the reproducibility (always, sometimes, rarely, ...)?
Always.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The output plays "too fast".

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

 20121027 (142.1)/Snow Lepard OSX.
Please provide any additional information below.
After  converting a CD to Apple lossless format the output is "garbage" and 
will not play  with for example VLC.

VLC does not support hi-res (above 16bit or above 44.1kHz) ALAC files properly. 
Use genuine Apple products for playback.

And changing CD audio into 32-bit makes no quality improvement.
