Well, the last update has no change around the CDDB connection.
And at least it works with my Mac mini, OSX 10.8.2 before/after sleep.

Well, just after coming back home, my computer was only in screen saver mode,
and guess what, I put a CD in the drive, and it wouldn't do a CDDB lookup, it
just gave and alert. i had to quit the program and re-start it the same CD
was still in the drive and it picked up the CDDB entry without a problem after
the re-start. I'm not sure what gives, since the internet connection itself is
not an issue. I could sort through the source-code myself, but I always find
debugging other people's software kinda like pulling teeth with a string and
door knob :)
Although no changes were done around the CDDB connection, what about the
ability to correctly read the CD number from the CD itself (The ISRC I believe
is what it's referred to), this is what the CDDB looks for ??
By the way XLD is by far the best CD Ripper/Encoder for Mac I've found :)

DiscID, which is used to lookup a disc in the CDDB, is calculated from a track
start position and length (not read from a disc directly). As long as XLD shows
track list properly, DiscID should be properly calculated.

I don't have any other suggestions, all I do know is that if I walk away from
the computer with XLD up and running, and come back after some time, long
enough for either the screen saver or the display to power off (not neccesarily
going into full standby) that XLD loses the ability to retrieve info from any
CDDB server either freeDB or MusicBrainz, but always does happen. I've checked
the network connection and all is fine, can browse the internet or connect to
my Linux server without issues, just the CDDB goes wonky. It very well may not
be a bug in XLD itself, it could be some port issue with Mountain Lion and when
the computer is idle for too long, it may close the port connection and
requires XLD to re-open it but closing and re-opening the application.
