What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open Audio CD and detect pregaps.
2. Spend long time (several minutes) editing track metadata. CD drive slows
down to sleep mode(?)
3. When finished editing, proceed to Extract. Nothing happens, apparently
contact is lost to the drive. A power reboot is needed to recover contact to
the CD drive.
How about the reproducibility (always, sometimes, rarely, ...)?
Always. Workaround is to see if CDDB data is available, then Extract as soon as
possible after metadata is downloaded. If no CDDB is found, Extract anyway
without metadata as soon as possible and use kid3 or similar tool to enter
metadata into the ripped files instead after XLD is finished.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Extract should revive contact to the drive after "sleep". Or never allow it to
go to sleep. Or disconnect in a controlled way so that the connection can be
restored.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
XLD version 145.0
Mac OSX 10.7.5
