Apple Lossless Files and Accurate Rip #278

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Convert from AccurateRip Flac to Apple Lossless
2. Load Apple Lossless Files and check Accurate Rip
3. Not possible, XLD just says Accurate Rip NO

How about the reproducibility (always, sometimes, rarely, ...)?
Always

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Newest, Mac 10.9.5

Please provide any additional information below.

I know for a fact that this used to work. My old converted files, that I have
checked for AR are now also shown as AR NO

How did you open .flac and .m4a with XLD, respectively?

I just noticed that the problem seems to have existed for some time now, since
I just found old converted m4a that passes AR.
So the problem just seems to be that XLD doesn't output AR-m4a anymore.
As a source I use folders with flac, cue sheets, ape... whatever comes along. I
always check AR before converting.
The converted m4a I always open as folder

Check Track 1 pregap option in the "Open Folder As a Disc" panel. It should be
set properly if the files are converted from the lossless audio image with .cue.

Ok, sorry! Delete this.
I forgot that for Disks with a Pregap on track 1 I need to open as folder and
tell it the pre gap...
Is there a way around this by any chance?

What do you mean?

Is was wondering if there is a way to somehow safe a metadata tag or something
like this in the m4a files, that will tell xld (or any other software) that
track 1 has a pre gap of XX:XX:XX prepended?

As far as I know there isn't any standard for it.
