Converting 5.1 multichannel wav (dts codec) #320

I have a wav file with dts codec, vlc and media info show it with 6 channels.

Can this type of file be converted with xld to flac or alac with the number of 
channels preserved? I can't seem to get it to work, it always ends up with 2. 
If I try with ffmpeg it preserves the channels.
