This report has to do with the Simplified Chinese translation. When the 
attached translation file is installed into r507 (Beta 2), the program exits 
when the Brain icon is clicked.

The problem is probably caused by a mismatch between the translation file 
(messages.mo) and the executable. The messages were generated against newer 
sources, r519, yet the executable is r507.

Please download and install the r519 executable from 
http://adgsoftware.com/phd2/ and install the  messages.mo file into 
<install_folder>\locale\zh_CN\

Unable to reproduce the problem with r642.
Also, please provide both message.po and message.mo file when submitting 
translation file.

This problem had to do with a out of date messages.mo file for the zh_CN 
translation.

We would love to get a new zh_CN translation and would do whatever we can to 
help support it.

But for now there is nothing actionable on this issue and I am going to close 
it.
