Maps prepared for raster and overlay processes into the GIS project folder:

Files stored in "QGISrasterMap_bin" (until entered into the database) will have the following naming format:
YYYY-mm-dd_hh-mm_[Grid reference]_[maptype]_[source filename]_[section].[ext]
Date
As above.
If the map has no date and time, add the best-found date and timestamp from primary source as required.
Grid reference
Preferably the coordinate reference with a 'to' between the 'x' and 'y' coordinates.
Map Type
For better identification use these abbreviations:
File abbreviation
Map type.
SitMap
Situation Map.
MinMap
Minute Map.

Section
For circumstances where large white space is encountered, sections using alphabetical characters 'a', 'b', 'c', 'd', etc will break up the tif files to remove extraneous white space.
This will be legend information typically, tears, rips, and so on.
Section 'a' should begin at the bottom left, then progress clockwise through each section.
