Package signature doesn't match #375

I'm on 2.8.8 stable and the app shows me that there is an update for 2.8.9 every time I open it. I wanted to update it, but my phone told me that the signatures of the old and new version didn't match. Because of that I deinstalled the app and went to F-Droid to manually install it, but they only have the app up to version 2.8.8. In Version 2.3.0 a signature check has been added to enable or disable the auto-update for the F-Droid update, the signature has never been changed up to this version, downloading the APK in debug mode which shows the debug log of the signature and launching it both on my personal device and on the emulator it showed the same signature, also I was able to update from 2.8.8 to 2.8.9 on my personal device

I'm not exactly sure what you are saying, but I'm just able to update the app through F-Droid and not the own in-built updater. I wasn't able to update from 2.8.8 to 2.8.9 through the app itself, but through F-Droid when the update appeared as available there.
