PLUGIN UNOFFICIALLY MOVED #45

If you have come here to submit a bug or feature request, I regret to inform you that Darakah has been unavailable for quite some time. I have forked this repo and am maintaining it here: https://github.com/TomNCatz/obsidian-gallery I will do my best to resolve any bugs or feature requests there, but I am not allowed to make an official obsidian plugin from my work since Darakah never license this project and I have been unable to reach them.

@Darakah If you do return at some point and see this, there are a few options you could do to help, and I'd appreciate any one of them

Sorry, I tried, but they won't let me since @Darakah did not have a license in this repo and my work is a fork of it. I discussed with the obsidian team if there was anything I could do to work around that. I was told that unless Darakah comes back and does one of the things I listed above there are legal concerns with putting my plugin version in their market place that they were unwilling to accept.

Currently you can use the community plugin "Obsidian42 - BRAT" to keep up with updates to my plugin automatically, but that is the best option I have at my disposal.

I understand where they are coming from, but it is frustrating. I have followed current procedure, but because Darakah did not (likely no fault of their on, I imagine procedure has changed since they stopped working on the project) I can't submit my version even though it's nearly a full rewrite at this point. I suppose I could do something sleazy like start up a new repo and scrape the finger prints off of it and submit that, but that feels gross and I don't really want to.

@Darakah If you do return at some point and see this, there are a few options you could do to help, and I'd appreciate any one of them

  • The easiest thing you could probably do is just add a license to this repo so I can include that license in mine and submit it officially
  • Probably the second easiest, and actually the method I would prefer, you could transfer ownership or permissions to me for this repo so that I could maintain it going forward. This would mean that anyone currently using your plugin would automatically start receiving updates.
  • And the third option is I could create a pull request for the work I've done and you could review it. This last one would probably require the the most effort for both of us and might only be a stopgap. Regardless, I hope you are well.

Rebuild the plugin. To exist in the Obsidian community. 31 stars and is still not among the official additions to community plugins Obsidian. ♥ People will love it when it is in community plugins.
