If you manage to create a MeshLibrary per AI, you get my 👍
I tried to tweak GridMap + MeshLib and it's a bit buggy. You need to create a scene with a mesh per texture, export the scene to MeshLibrary, import it into a GridMap, and paint. For me this didn't worked out while the meshes were rotated and I couldn't figure out to fix this..

Since we'll probably have multiple AI's we could also add multiple Board-Styles, that are either "bound" to an AI to better easily identify who you face or just let the player choose one like.
