How do you turn off auto step? the disable auto step doesnt work

Bug Description

Im trying to disable the auto step, which i assume that makes you climb a block without jumping. I dont like playing like that, so i tried to turn it off. ### Did this behavior use to work in the previous version? no ## Steps to Reproduce (for bugs)

1.go to settings, find disable auto step, bind it to a unused key, then click the key 2.walk to a block and hold w 3.

This is not a bug. Step-assist and auto-jump are not the same function. Step-assist is very helpful in conserving saturation. I recommend keeping it.

This "feature" is very obnoxious and should be toggle-able from the beginning. Conserving saturation is not a good reason to have this on by default. In fact, that's more of an argument against having it enabled by default.

It's an intended "feature", something about quality of life, and "reasons".

"It's not getting changed." - god knows why "just cheat in the item that disables this" is the recommended course of action.

This has been an ongoing issue with at least one post every year, just do the cheating (or play another modpack)
