Boxart switching issue in games menu when long pressing up/down #43

Good Day!

Hope you are doing well.

In video or detailed view, I notice that when I press up or down in the gamelist, it shows the front cover first and then after a few seconds displays the back cover as expected.

However if I long press the up or down to scroll quickly through the gamelist, it seems to show the back cover first and never changes to the front cover unless you press up or down to another game.

Have you noticed this behaviour before? This is in retrobat. Maybe there is a way to fix?

Hi :) Thanks for your report, i have plan to make this feature like an option next week, and OFF by default because it slow down ES on low powerful boards like PI3 To make it, i only use an ES animation feature with the STORYBOARD in XML. I have plan to make it switching all the 5 sec in next release, like it if you see the back cover, the front will come 5 sec after. BUT !!!! i think it is an EmulationStation BUG ! not a theme bug, it will be appreciate if you can report it to @fabricecaruso . Maybe he can investigate to understand why ?

Ok thanks. I reported this to the https://github.com/batocera-linux/batocera-emulationstation team as I'm seeing the same behaviour in Batocera and Retrobat and will see what they say.

I haven't seen an update on the batocera git around this issue I reported. Did you ever have a chance to see what might be causing it?

Hi :)

I don't know, animations are made by ES, if when you move it does not work i can do nothing :( Maybe a lak of RAM ? Only fabrice can fix it if you can show him and explain him how to reproduce it.

could you post a video showing the behavior - I don't quite see it on my end after installing the theme last night (btw - awesome work - I love this theme!)

Thanks @udance4ever , i don't understand what video you want to see ? For the moment the work on this theme is in pause. So many month of work on it and i have some other projects to work on too. But it is not abandonned

@89carrot could you post a video related to the issue you opened? I was having trouble reproducing the behavior you describe. and perhaps pasting a direct link to the issue you filed with ES might help too!
