Ability to export current settings #237

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

I would like to request the ability to export your settings (potentially
also one's exceptions that are allowed) to file to be able to import into
another installation of PB.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
No function to export settings to file.

What version of PeerBlock are you using? On what operating system? 32- or
64-bit?
r223
Windows 7 64bit

You can copy peerblock.conf.

Yep, as XhmikosR suggested, all your base PeerBlock settings are stored in
peerblock.conf. Your custom allow/block lists are stored in the
{peerblock_install_directory}\lists\permallow.p2b and ...\lists\permblock.p2b
files.
Transferring these three files over to a new install should allow you to easily
migrate all your settings over.

Marking this as "won't fix", since I really can't see a need for any additional
feature here. If you disagree, feel free to comment and we can always re-open
this
issue.

Is this documented somewhere at least? I only found this after searching for
it, and an issue tracker probably isn't the best place for documentation.

It would certainly be a lot better to provide an settings export option.
