The desire to develop #13

Why do some people strive for development while others do not?

It all comes down to two types of mindset: a fixed mindset and a growth mindset.

People with a fixed mindset believe that their personal characteristics are static and cannot be changed. They see no possibility for growth. They believe that you are born with certain qualities and that's what you'll have throughout your life.

Success is merely seen as validation of how well their abilities align with a predefined standard. There is a need for constant self-affirmation, seeking validation in every situation to prove their intelligence, individuality, or character.

People with a growth mindset view failures as opportunities for growth and developing their abilities. This mindset is based on the belief that fundamental qualities can be developed through personal efforts. Individuals with a growth mindset do not become disheartened by failures; they do not even perceive them as personal setbacks. Instead, they see each situation as a learning process.

If you want to achieve more, strive for personal development, and work towards fulfilling your goals, you should abandon a fixed mindset and embrace a growth mindset.

After all, the quality of life largely depends on how we approach problems rather than relying solely on talent or intelligence.
