Eugenics #46

I'm interested in Eugenics. Now many perceive this concept as associated with Nazi Germany and treat it badly. However, eugenics is a set of beliefs and practices aimed at improving the genetic quality of the human population. Such programs included both positive measures, such as encouraging individuals deemed particularly "fit" to reproduce, and negative measures, such as marriage prohibitions and forced sterilization of people deemed unfit for reproduction. Those deemed "unfit to reproduce" often included people with mental or physical disabilities, people who scored in the low ranges on different IQ tests, criminals and "deviants", and members of disfavored minority groups. But after the use of this term by the Nazis, everything related to Eugenics was banned and vilified. I think this approach is not correct. And I stand for a competent approach to the selection of people that would help our civilization develop. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugenics
