- mex: just a pronunciation of M-x, but unintentionally implies association with Mexico.
- acmx: "Alternate Completion for M-x", but "ac" prefix is reserved for auto-complete extensions
- amx: "Alternative M-x"; same as above but no confusion with "ac" prefix
- mxc: "M-x completion", also "Most Extreme Completion" as a reference to MXC
- exc: An initialism for
execute-extended-command, the command normally bound toM-x.
This has diverged sufficiently from the original smex to justify a rename. Document that it is a fork of smex.
