hi guys what are the chances that we got an android version in the near future?

DasAmpharos commented 4 years ago

I haven't done any research into building a Qt app for android. I ultimately would like to so that users aren't required to have a desktop/laptop for running EonTimer.

Hey odd request but hear me out. I belive that it may be possible to generate the spreads using a utility like excel. But to do this I need a better idea of the basic equations used to run these caculations. I have a heavy math background but unfortunately dint really understand code very well. To accomplish an Android port or at least a round about way to generate spreads using the caculating ability of excel or google sheets it basically makes a mobile version

Im actually really only interested in identifying shiny frames as really this is the majority of the interest that people seek a mobile solution for. At any rate disclosing the math in a chalkboard manner would allow people to write code for this in a variety of languages Reguardless of their familarity with c++.

I may not know enough to know what I am asking is flawed but an equation or two would be stellar. I may even be able to combine equations to make one equation that can be fed back into itself to generate spreads line by line. Using excel I could in theroy create a bunch of decimals and then convert them to hex. Excel cant operate hex but it can convert hex. Making it a viable math calculator. And a more accessable one

As a follow up if a database file can be pulled. Theres a thing called open as app. Where you can construct an andorid app around the file... In android. Im tethered to a quasi mortal phone existance. But I believe it is possible with minimal effort to make an android app now...

@NoboHob0 I'm not 100% following what you are suggesting but what I am following doesn't look like it has to do with the functionality of EonTimer but rather a new app idea

NoboHob0 commented 3 years ago

I mean I don't particularly care how you slice it. But if the code/database generation came from you than I would say its the mobile version.

Im not here to steal code, make money or anything.

I just am busy on r/EmulationOnAndroid and I think its possible and currently possibly easier than its ever been.

I dont want credit. But if someone would be so kind to help me make the damn thing or see if its even super hard to do. Yall can do what you want. All I want is personal use and if it ends up costing money than a version for free. For pushing the idea.

And yes I do recommend charging for the app...

I have no stake other than development moving forward. Or getting the team beers

Its something people would buy especially with the Eon team logo on it.

Or ad it up because theres so many projects that could benifit from software licenses etc. Commission work here and there for something thats just not gonna happen for free.

I am uninterested in starting a new project at this time. This thread was for requesting an android version of EonTimer and not for suggesting a new app idea. Please avoid hijacking issues in the future.

NoboHob0 commented 3 years ago

Understood. I appreciate directness
