Brief summary

Windows pops up a message with USB failures regularly.

How reproducible

Quite reproducible, about 75% of the time.

How to reproduce

  1. Install Windows on one of the mentioned platform.
  2. Make sure that all Windows updates have been installed and that the laptop has been restarted.
  3. Use the laptop normally, while keeping an eye on pop-ups and the state of the USB devices in Device Manager.

To trigger the issue more easily, you might want to attach some USB pen drives to both USB A ports; I feel like it has something to do with not getting enough power? Or some initialisation issue.

Expected behavior

  1. No random USB warnings or errors pop-ups show up and the devices in Device Manager stay in a normal working state.
  2. USB devices are working flawlessly without interruption.

Actual behavior

  1. Random USB warnings or errors pop-ups show up and the devices in Device Manager regularly show warning signs under USB devices.
  2. USB devices are working flawlessly without interruption.

Additional context

Sometimes, USB devices stop working randomly. I have only tried USB-A devices and got this issue with both USB pen drives and a USB QR scanner. Additionally, I have seen this issue on both the V540TU (Ultra 7) as well as on the V560TU (Ultra 7). Might this issue be related to https://github.com/Dasharo/dasharo-issues/issues/976?

Trying to reproduce on V560TND v0.9.1-rc3. There were no errors in 40 minutes with two USB drives connected. In device manager both drives have the status "This device is working properly".

On V560TND with v0.9.1-rc3 the errors did not appear after three hours of stress tests with USB flash drives connected to both USB-A ports. It must already be fixed in the newest release candidates or only appear on iGPU models.
